NIMBioS-BioQUEST Tutorial Schedule (pdf)
This three and a half day event will be divided into three phases:
Phase I: Participants will work with existing online resources to engage in investigative activities with biological data and tools as well as cyberlearning strategies.
Phase II: Participants will adapt and adopt existing resources to develop collaborative computational biology curricular projects.
Phase III: Participants will be invited to initiate longer-term development efforts based on social networking. Our 2010 NIMBioS Computational Biology Tutorial and 2010 SCALE-IT Project workshop site can provide support for ongoing collaborations and curricular innovation through the blog and work spaces.
All of the materials used and developed as part of this tutorial will be accessible online.
In this workshop, participants will have opportunities to:
- Engage in biological problem solving using data
- Discover cyberlearning tools and strategies for engaging students in cutting-edge science
- Explore data visualization, analysis tools, and modeling
- Share strategies for supporting student investigations in evolution
- Develop and share curricular materials for the classroom
