Abstract

The goals of this project are to provide educators with tools to augment student science process and critical thinking skills; offer appropriate entry levels to match student preparation; and introduce digital libraries by asking students to use them, contribute to one, and evaluate on-line resources. The final product will be a web site allowing students to begin an exploration at one of three different levels. The lowest level will provide the most support. Successful investigations require completion of the third level where the students will generate a scientific question, formulate an hypothesis, obtain appropriate data to arrive at a conclusion, and contribute to the regional digital library (the CABERnet). Assessment will include peer review and instructor evaluation.
