Possible Audiences:

Introductory biology and microbiology at the 100-200 course level and molecular biology and genetics at the 300-400 level.

Brief Overview:

"Molecular Forensics," a case in BioQUESTS's Microbes Count!, has been modified for use in introductory courses which benefit from "hands-on" activites and for upper level courses which benefit from using bioinformatics tools themselves. An explanation of how to interpret phylogenetic trees has been added.

Project Materials:

PowerPoint explaining the goals. List of references.
