Models are often used as decision-making tools. We can use the program Epidemiology to model the effects of vaccines on the HIV epidemic in a severely affected community. We can contrast the impact of different vaccines and alternative strategies for their distribution. Several scenarios provide insight into factors incorporated into public policy.
