In order to attract students to STEM careers departments and programs must develop curriculum steeped in the process of scientific research from the very first courses. In this session panelists will introduce several innovative strategies to integrate faculty and advanced student research into the first courses, as well as advanced courses. Dr. David Lynn (Emory) will present a freshman seminar, designed and conducted by graduate students and postdoctoral students around their own research. He will address how this model may be adapted to both faculty and advanced undergraduate research at primarily undergraduate institutions. Ethel Stanley and Larry Blumer will present several investigative cases developed by faculty to immerse first year students in scientific investigations. Paula Martin will present laboratories modeled on their research. Patricia Soochan will present HHMI highlights
